A hand-glazed ceramic heart from Kazuri, Kenya — each one a different colourway, each one slightly different from the next. The leopard-print version in amber and black. The sky blue with white swirl markings. The speckled sage green with dusty rose beads above it. All three on leather cord with small ceramic spacer beads, finished with a gold keyring.

Kazuri — Swahili for "small and beautiful" — has been making hand-rolled, hand-painted ceramic beads in Nairobi since 1975, originally employing single mothers from the local community. Each piece carries that history.
