Each Lau diya is carved by hand from a single piece of natural gemstone. Its teardrop shape echoes the flicker of a flame, so the diya looks like a small light even before it’s lit.
This Diwali, we’ve reimagined the humble clay diya in stones we love working with: warm red and peach aventurine, flecked dalmatian jasper, shimmering labradorite, smoky quartz, clear quartz and deep black obsidian. Because every stone is natural, no two diyas are the same in colour, veining or translucence. Yours will be one of a kind.
Light one with a tea light or a little ghee and a wick on Diwali night. Once the festival is over, keep it out as a ring dish, a trinket bowl by your bed, or a small altar piece. It’s made to be used long after the last pataaka has gone off.
